Karen is a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. She is also a member of SEA UK, the College of Sound Healing and the international community of Flow Game hosts.
Initially trained in London, Karen now works in Gloucestershire, England and internationally via the Internet. With over 15 years clinical experience working with individuals and groups, she has developed a unique approach integrating Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing ®, EMDR, Brainspotting, Sound Healing and the Flow Game. She also works with the arts therapeutically.
Karen’s special interest is in helping clients find relief and recovery from the symptoms of stress, trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Her clinical experience includes six years as a member of London Underground’s Counselling and Trauma Service, and the role of Clinical Lead at Khiron House Trauma Recovery Centre. Karen has worked with ex British Military and special services personnel, London Underground’s train drivers, Police Officers and Paramedics, in addition to many members of the general public.
Karen offers assessment and treatment delivered within a professional and welcoming environment. She has provided services for the NHS, is a registered provider for Aviva and Vitality Health Insurance, and currently consults for the counselling team at Occupational Health, Gloucestershire County Council. Her therapy room is in a village location in Gloucestershire that is easily accessible for local clients from Cirencester, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Moreton-on-Marsh and Northleach, Oxford, Swindon and Witney. And she is delighted that clients from as far afield as Shropshire, Devon and Cheshire have travelled to work with her for Personal One Day Intensives.
When Karen isn’t working, her passion for both art and nature finds her either in a gallery or in her garden. Karen writes poetry, plays Gongs, and lives happily with her canine companions. And just like other people she occasionally surfs the hidden dimensions of the sofa.
